In the publication on the basis of archival documents the condition of the Karelian isthmus regions’
economy, passed to the Leningrad region according to the results of the Soviet-Finnish war (1939–1940) is shown.
Documents testify to the fact that the former Finnish territories, passed as a result of the war to the USSR, were socially poorly secured, which is largely associated with the low population density of the region.

The article explores the philosophical and historical concept of a historian and one of the first
Russian sociologists Nikolai Ivanovich Kareev
(1850–1931). Identifying the philosophy of history and sociology, Kareev in his works developed the theory of historical process. He believed that only the sociological point of view on history can draw from the history the science, because there is no own laws of history.

When assessing the composition of J. Fletcher as a source for national history of the XVI century, S.M. Seredonin attempted to discover the bias of messages of the English diplomat and lawyer, paying priority attention to his unique testimonies. The scientist tried to define, on what the information was based, determine the degree of their reliability, find the place of the treatise «About the Russian state» in a series of numerous of works about «Muscovy», left by foreigners, especially the British.

The article examines the attitude towards the October revolution, Soviet Russia and its foreign policy from the part of various directions of the socialist movement of France in the late 1910s.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the causes of deviant socialization of girls in the second half of the XIX – beginning of XX century. On the archival materials and publicistic articles is shown how socio-economic conditions, family environment had been influencing on the exploitation of the girls from parents, masters of the craft shops, brothels. The measures undertaken by the state and public organizations to assist the children were analyzed.
